From this cluster: Bhoodan Pochampally
In double ikat both warp and weft are tied and dyed before a single thread meets the loom, so the pattern has to be summoned into alignment as the weaving goes. The soft edge where indigo meets white is the tell — a printed cloth would give you a hard line. Colour — Indigo, White Technique — Double ikat, woven at Bhoodan Pochampally over 21 days on the loom. Fabric — Mulberry silk Speciality — Warp and weft are resist-dyed separately, so the motif reads the same on both faces of the cloth. The Suka promise — Handloom, never powerloom. A named cluster, a counted number of hands, and a making record you can read. Note — Comes with an unstitched blouse piece. Where a model is photographed, the blouse shown is styled separately. Because it is handwoven, small irregularities in the weave and slight variation in colour are inherent to the cloth. They are the evidence of a hand, not a fault in it.21 days on the loom · 4 pairs of hands · 100% handloomThe making record Ships from — Suka workshop, Hyderabad Sold by — Suka Indian Handlooms Woven at — Bhoodan Pochampally, Telangana Hands — 4 weavers, named on the making record Gift wrap — Available at checkout 7 days returnable · Free delivery across India · 100% handloom · Named weaver · Care guide in every parcel · Secure checkoutShipping Despatched from the Hyderabad workshop within two working days.
